Wham! That's right. According to Dave Wakeling, Wham! (a hugely successful '80s pop duo consisting of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley) had in their early days submitted a demo to the Beat. Interestingly the demo had a cover of "Can't Get Used To Losing You" before the Beat had released a recording of it. Dave, however, tells that he was completely unaware of the demo until some time much later. Michael and Ridgely began performing together in a ska band by the name of The Executive. After the band broke up, the two founded Wham! and eventually went on to find stardom on the pop charts.
